The BMF Annual General Meeting 2025 BMF News 14 October 202514 October 2025 The BMF Annual General Meeting [AGM] was held on Zoom at 10.00 AM on Saturday the 11th October 2025. The meeting was well attended , with many apologies also, by BMF members from all over the UK. The meeting was Chaired by Jim Freeman, with expert technical support from Helen Hancock the BMF’s General Administrator and Communications specialist. The AGM received detailed reports for the past year, with thoughts and direction for the next, from: • Anna Zee, Political and Technical Services Director, on Lobbying. • Paul Morgan CBE, Government Relations Executive, on Lobbying. • Howard Anderson, Finance Director, on Finance and Accountancy. • Peter Laidlaw, Membership Services Director and Events Director, on Membership and Events. • Helen Hancock, Communications Administrator, on Social Media and Events. The reports raised a lively dialogue, with questions and comments from the floor, either verbally or via the Chat. The formal business of the meeting included the mandatory annual re-election of the Chair, with no nominations apart from Jim Freeman’s, he was elected unopposed by a Zoom Poll with a 97% approval vote. The list of BMF Councillors for 2025-6 was voted en bloc , with 29 councillors from the National and One Makes Clubs Forum [NaOMC] and Annual Regional Meetings [ARMs] being approved in another Poll, by 93%. The AGM, where the Annual Accounts to 31st December 2024 would normally have been approved by vote, was unable to do so, as the Accounts were not yet available to the meeting. The meeting decided to defer the necessary vote to the January 2026 Council meeting, as the accounts will be available then. The accounts have to be formally approved by the guarantee holding Councillors. This follows a precedent set at the 2024 AGM. The meeting also noted the loss of both Jim Peel-Cross and Nick Jeffery , long term Regional Chair in Region 7 and BMF Councillor respectively, in 2025, with an unopposed motion from the floor. Following the usual selection of the next AGM date, 10th October 2026, the Chair thanked all the attendees and wished everybody a pleasant and productive afternoon, hoping they made the most of the sunshine by getting out on their bikes. The meeting was closed by the Chair, at 12.33 PM. Written by Jim Freeman – bmf chair Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
