Motorcycle Law Scotland Announce Series of Motorcycle Safety Roadshows

Scottish bikers will get the chance to learn more about survival skills at a series of five roadshows run by Motorcycle Law Scotland. Each show last three hours, with talks from Police Scotland Road Policing, Biker Down, IAM RoadSmart, Motorcycle Law Scotland and Eric Hill, Chair of the Society of Road Safety Auditors. Q&A sessions will allow riders to quiz the panel as well.

The roadshow will visit five cities over five days in February: Glasgow on Monday 17th, Edinburgh (18th), Dundee (19th), Aberdeen (20th) and Inverness (21st). The series was organised by Motorcycle Law after two successful similar events were held in Elgin in February 2024.
All shows start at 6pm, finish at 9pm, and entry is free with donations, all money raised going to Scotland’s Air Charity Ambulance. All attendees get to enter a prize draw (with prizes including £400 jackets from Kawasaki) and the events are supported by a whole raft of motorcycle dealers in Scotland. Tickets can be booked at: here

Anna Zee, BMF’s Political & Technical Services Director said: ” This is excellent initiative from one of BMF’s key partners Motorcycle Law Scotland, with the series of roadshows specifically designed to improve the safety and survival skills of motorcyclists. Between 2020 and 2023 there were 1836 road collisions involving motorcyclists across Scotland, tragically with 98 motorcyclist fatalities. Clearly more needs to be done if the Scottish Government is to meet its own target of reducing motorcycle casualty numbers by 30% by 2030. Key initiatives like this and the #takeanotherlook campaign are a welcome addition to improving the overall safety of motorcyclists.”
