National Young Rider Day BMF News 28 March 20256 May 2025 The 2025 National Young Rider Day will take place on Wednesday 11th June, with a focus on young motorcyclists. Founded by the National Young Rider Forum (NYRF) just two years ago, and aims to celebrate the access of young people to powered two-wheelers (PTWs), and help them to stay safe on the road. As a member of the NYRF, and as one of the leading motorcycle rider organisations in the UK, the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) strongly supports National Rider Day with its focus on the safety and development of young riders. The NYRF has set up the New Rider Hub website, which offers a whole raft of useful information for new riders, including guidance on training and safer riding, buying your first bike, getting the right PPE, and even getting riding work in the gig economy. As in previous years, the organisers are looking to local authorities and emergency services to get involved with National Young Rider Day with the aim of running relevant events across the country. The day is also timed to coincide with the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s annual two-wheel operation, as well as a campaign with TyreSafe to educate new riders on the importance of looking after their tyres. Jim Freeman, Chair of the BMF was delighted to support National Young Rider Day and welcome younger riders into motorcycling, saying: “This is a terrific initiative that, as more young riders get into motorcycling, will provide them with useful advice on buying a bike and maintaining it, and importantly help to keep them safe on the road. I wish we’d had this when I was a nipper, it might have saved me a number of formative learning experiences, which involved pain, mostly to my wallet.” Download PDF version of above flyer HERE Written by Peter Henshaw Top image courtesy of Wheels 2 Work Southwest Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
