Fog, Fellowship & Fine Machines: Stafford Classic Show 2025

Stafford Classic Show 2025
Staffordshire County Showground 11–12 October 2025

The British classic motorcycling community once again showcased its passion and resilience last weekend as the Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show drew thousands of enthusiasts to Staffordshire County Showground despite Sunday being swallowed by a thick fog.

Part of the Classic Bike Shows calendar, this well-established autumn gathering lived up to its reputation, blending nostalgia, mechanical mastery and community spirit. Saturday brought crisp skies and bright sunshine while Sunday’s damp chill did little to deter the turnout.
The venue is disabled- and family-friendly, with lifts providing access to upstairs displays and the café.

Saturday: A Clear Start and Strong Turnout

From early morning, motorcyclists, mechanics, collectors and newcomers poured through the gates. Inside, the halls buzzed with colour, conversation and admiration for the machines on display.
From immaculate café racers and two-stroke icons to lovingly rebuilt British classics, every corner offered something to marvel at. The Carole Nash feature zone was a particular highlight in sparking discussion on everything from insurance packages to polishing techniques.
Trade stalls reported excellent early sales, with carburettors, vintage fairings and other essentials snapped up by eager restorers. Club stands remained as popular as ever, offering the chance to swap stories over a cuppa.
Outdoors, hundreds of stalls catered to every interest, selling everything from hot drinks and food to autojumble, new clothing, accessories, and more. Live entertainment ranged from singing performances to the daring Wall of Death.
Inside the halls, the BMF partnered alongside Fletchers Solicitors and Mental Health Motorbike Charity, providing information, support and engagement opportunities for visitors.

Saturday highlights included:

• Strong footfall across all indoor and outdoor sections.
• Packed live interviews and technical talks with respected restoration and custom build experts.
• A well-stocked autojumble featuring parts spanning decades and continents.
• A vibrant outdoor marketplace with food, drinks, shopping, and live entertainment.
• BMF, Fletcher’s Solicitors, and the Mental Health Motorcyclist Charity connecting with riders inside the halls.

Sunday: Riding Into the Mist

Sunday presented a different picture. Heavy fog rolled in early and lingered throughout the day, reducing visibility to just a few metres at times.
Yet the weather didn’t stop attendees from filling the car and bike parking areas. Inside, the show retained its energy, with visitors spending more time chatting with traders and fellow riders. The atmosphere, while subdued, radiated a strong sense of community.

Adaptations to the conditions included:

• Traders moving stock closer to hall entrances and undercover areas.
• Indoor zones becoming focal points for talks, demonstrations, and networking.
• Bonhams auction drawing strong attendance despite limited outdoor previews.
• Clubs offering hot drinks and conversation to fog-bound visitors, reinforcing the grassroots appeal of the event.
• BMF, Fletcher’s Solicitors, and the Mental Health Motorcyclist Charity continuing to provide support and engagement inside.

As one regular exhibitor reflected: “You couldn’t see much outside, but inside? The passion was visible everywhere.”

They offer us a chance to meet members face-to-face, gather feedback and stay connected with riders passionate about both motorcycling and their rights on the road.
