Ducati Dragons Continue to Grow as Official Ducati Club and BMF Affiliated Group

The motorcycle community has always been built around friendship, passion and bringing like-minded riders together, and one group proving exactly that is the ever-growing Ducati Dragons.

Now firmly established as both a British Motorcyclists Federation affiliated club and now a Ducati Official Club (DOC), the ever-growing women’s riding community continues to make a major impact within the biking world while preparing to celebrate Ducati’s upcoming centenary year in 2026.

Founded in 2021 by Gillian Riddell with co-organiser Andrea Marshall and now supported by Ducati Stoke, the Ducati Dragons were created to provide a welcoming and supportive safe space where female Ducati riders could share experiences, build confidence and enjoy motorcycling together.

What started as a small social media group has rapidly grown into a thriving national community now more than 450 members strong, bringing together women riders of all ages, backgrounds and riding abilities through a shared love of Ducati motorcycles and the wider biking lifestyle.

More Than Just Ride Outs

While ride outs and Ducati passion remain at the heart of the group, the Ducati Dragons have become about far more than simply riding motorcycles.

The club actively encourages rider development, confidence building and friendship, particularly for women who may be new to biking or returning to motorcycling after time away from the saddle.

Over recent years, the group has organised and supported:

· RoSPA observed rides
· Biker Down first aid and incident management training
· Rider confidence and development opportunities
· Ducati dealership events and demo rides
· Social meet-ups and touring weekends
· Charity fundraising events and raffles

For many members, the Ducati Dragons have provided the confidence to attend their first motorcycle events, take longer touring trips or simply connect with other like-minded female riders in a welcoming environment.

Supporting Charities Along The Way

Alongside promoting female motorcycling, the group has also built a strong reputation for fundraising and community support.
One of the charities close to the Dragons’ hearts is the Air Ambulance service, with the group raising thousands of pounds through raffles, events and community fundraising efforts supported by Ducati dealerships and members across the country.
That combination of community spirit and practical support is one of the reasons the group continues to grow year after year.

Looking Ahead to Ducati’s Centenary Celebrations

With Ducati preparing to celebrate its centenary in 2026, the Ducati Dragons are looking ahead to a packed calendar of events and celebrations.

Plans throughout the year include:

· The annual “Ducati Dragons Assemble” gathering
· Group attendance at World Ducati Week in Misano
· Ride outs and touring weekends across the UK
· Dealer-supported events and social gatherings
· Charity fundraising activities
· Continued rider development opportunities

The centenary celebrations promise to be a huge occasion for Ducati enthusiasts worldwide, and the Dragons are ensuring female riders are very much part of the journey.

Encouraging More Women Into Motorcycling

As female participation within motorcycling continues to grow across the UK, groups like the Ducati Dragons are helping create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women riders.

Whether members own a Panigale, Monster, Multistrada, Scrambler or are simply passionate about the Ducati brand, the club welcomes women riders from every corner of the biking community.

Importantly, riders do not need years of experience or advanced riding qualifications to become involved – just enthusiasm for riding and being part of a supportive network.

Speaking about the club’s continued growth and recent BMF affiliation, founder Gillian Riddell said: “We were absolutely thrilled to hear that the BMF wanted to share our success story. It means a great deal to both me and Andrea to see the Ducati Dragons gaining recognition, especially following our recent affiliation with the BMF. Bringing more women into the motorcycle family is something we are incredibly passionate about, and we hope our story inspires even more ladies to get involved, ride bikes and become part of this amazing community.”
