Proposed reforms to the UK’s National Planning Policy Framework have one big flaw… BMF News 30 September 202430 September 2024 The Government's proposed reforms to the UK's National Planning Policy Framework have one big flaw: they fail to mention motorbikes! The British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) has responded to the Government's Consultation on "Proposed reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework and other changes to the UK planning system", which are designed to unleash significant environmental, social and economic benefits for UK plc. Unfortunately, the Government’s proposals as they stand fail to take into account the widely recognised benefits to be derived from the promotion and support of Powered Two Wheelers (PTWs) as an accessible, low-cost and low-polluting solution to the UK’s future transport needs. Paul Morgan CBE, BMF’s Government Relations Executive said: “ In responding to the Government Consultation, which will form the blueprint

The BMF and NMC, in a combined response to TfL’s consultation on the proposed Charging Scheme for the Silvertown and Blackwall tunnels, have lodged detailed objections to the proposals to implement charges for motorcycles to use the Tunnels from 2025. Hackney Parking Charges – UPDATE BMF News 20 August 202422 August 2024 Latest update from Save London Motorcycling (SLM) A few months ago we, SLM, told you the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) were taking legal action against Hackney Council over their punitive motorcycle parking charges. At the time we thought we couldn’t bring the case as an unincorporated organisation. We’ve now found out that we can! We couldn't establish this before the tight deadline for filing so the BMF stepped up but we've now agreed that SLM is the best group to take the case forward as we’ve been leading the campaign in Hackney. Now we need your help to raise the funds needed to help take Hackney to court. Donate here! We don't want to ask for money but Save London Motorcycling is entirely volunteer led

As they currently stand, the plans will see motorcycles being charged a slightly reduced price to car and vans during peak times but the same as cars at off-peak time There is no justification for this. TfL say they must bring in charges to ‘manage
